Rex is a filmmaker from the San Francisco Bay Area. He's a graduate of the USC School of Cinematic Arts and the AFI Conservatory, where he studied Cinema/Media Studies and motion picture Producing respectively. He’s since produced shorts and music videos that have garnered numerous accolades and views on Youtube.

His short film Furthest From (2020) was featured in more than sixty film festivals, including 10 Oscar qualifying ones: the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen (FIAPF Accredited), LA Shorts International Film Festival, Pan African Film Festival, and the Holly Shorts Film Festival among others. He also produced the hit Noah Cyrus music video “Lonely,” which currently has more than 10 million views on Youtube.

Recently, he produced and helped spearhead an ambitious 16mm docu-narrative anthology feature in Oakland, California. It concerns the struggles of Black women in an ever changing socioeconomic American landscape. The project will encapsulate several cities in its expansive narrative.

As a writer-producer, Rex is attracted to stories that feature complex, and often messy characters coming into their own. He is currently developing several narrative projects, including his first feature.
